Think Before You Brand: A logo is the point of entry to the brand

Welcome to my blog post. A logo is an invaluable asset of your visual identity. It is a guarantee of quality that unites all of your communications.

Let's start it off with...your logo is comprised of a logotype and a mark!

The mark should symbolize your business. Logotypes can vary. Your logo is a symbol of the strength and endurance of your business.

If you are going to have several versions of your logo you should also consider choosing a version that is determined by the needs of the intended layout.

To maintain the quality and longevity of your brand, there are rules and specifications on color, placement, and general application of your logo.

  1. Maintain the proper color configuration in the logotype.

  2. Do not rotate logotype

  3. Do not use effects on the logotype

  4. Do not place the logo on conflicting background color.

Just remember that design is as much an act of spacing as an act of marking.
